ELM's Emphasis on Quality

In the demanding world of lubricants, attention to quality must be constantly maintained and expanded. That's why ELM pays such close attention to all aspects of processing and quality assurance.

Raw Material Control

ELM's commitment to quality starts upon receipt of base oils and additives. Unlike most lubricant facilities ELM utilizes the specialized instrumentation unique to vegetable oils such as the oxidation stability instrument required to test the unique oxidative properties of our products.

Receiving and in Process Inspection

Samples are taken routinely from base stock and additive supplies, from blending and packaging operations, and storage vessels. The laboratory staff maintains strict control standards by using the latest instruments.

Physical and Performance Test Instrumentation

Our capabilities include access to the following instruments for both grease and fluid testing:

  • Oxidation Stability Instrument
  • Grease Penetrometers
  • 4 Ball EP and Wear Tests
  • Viscometers
  • Electrolytic Respirometer for Biodegradability Testing
  • Foam Testers
  • Pour Point Apparatus
  • Humidity Cabinet Rust Test
  • Grease Corrosion Test

As a result of our commitment to quality, ELM customers can be assured that our products meet or exceed their performance specifications.
